San Diego beer connoisseurs with a sweet tooth will be delighted to know that two San Diego favorites are partnering on a specialty pairing that benefits the local community. North Park Beer Co. (NPBC) will be featuring the Black Is Beautiful beer, a global beer collaboration that was spearheaded by Weathered Souls Brewing, a black-owned brewery in San Antonio, Texas.
“We’re one of over 1,000 breweries who are participating and 100% of the proceeds of the sales will be going to local not-for-profit entities Detour, a mentoring program for girls of color, and The Blue Heart Foundation, which focuses on the education and empowerment of under-served youths ages 13 through 18 in the greater San Diego County community,” said NPBC Head Brewer and Proprietor Kelsey McNair. “The beer is an imperial stout and it is vegan, so this is the perfect beer to feature in a collab with Maya's Cookies.”
Maya’s Cookies marble-fudge and caramel-pecan cookies will be featured as they pair well with the Black is Beautiful beer.
“We are so excited to share Maya’s Cookies with the craft beer community in North Park. We love their beer, their sense of community and, frankly, the mission of these local non-profit recipients is so near and dear to my heart that when the opportunity came to partner, I knew this was the perfect fit,” said Maya Madsen, Owner and Founder of Maya’s Cookies.
North Park Beer Company recently re-opened for outdoor dining and the beer-and-cookie pairing will be available as a to-go option. Customers can pre-order now and pickup anytime on Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23. The price of the pairing is $12 plus tax and CRV.
