MAYA’S COOKIES FOUNDER IS GIVING BACK THIS JUNETEENTH WITH BLACK HISTORY-INSPIRED COLLECTION

San Diego, CA (May 24, 2023) – CEO and Founder of Maya’s Cookies, Maya Madsen, is putting together the ultimate cookie collection to help build pathways for Black women in STEM.

To celebrate Juneteenth, Black-owned vegan cookie company, Maya’s Cookies, is bringing together the fan-favorite flavors from past years’ Black History Collections for the ultimate all-star cookie lineup.

Honoring Black changemakers, icons and barrier-breakers, the Black History All-Stars Collection includes flavors inspired by poet Amanda Gorman, spirits-disruptor Uncle Nearest and the Godmother of Soul, Patti LaBelle.

In a continued effort to give back to the community, Maya’s Cookies Founder and CEO, Maya Madsen, will be donating a portion of proceeds from each sale to Black Girls Code – an organization dedicated to building “pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.”

The cookie collection includes The Amanda Gorman, a lemon raspberry cookie with sweet white chocolate chunks, The Uncle Nearest featuring whiskey candied pecans, caramel chips and chocolate chips, and The Chart-Topper, a peach cobbler inspired cookie dedicated to Patti LaBelle that includes smoked peach jam and a brown sugar cinnamon crumble.

“For the past 3 years, our Black History inspired cookies have really resonated with people and I’m thrilled to be able to bring back some of the fan-favorites to celebrate Juneteenth,” Madsen stated, “Donating a portion of proceeds to Black Girls Code was a no-brainer. This collection is an honoring of Black excellence and those successes and opportunities should be shared with our next generation of leaders.”
